The Heir of Night (2010 USA & UK/AU/NZ) is the first in the 4-book, The Wall of Night epic fantasy series. It won the 2012 Gemmell Morningstar Award for Best Fantasy Newcomer:

"A richly told tale of strange magic, ark treachery, and conflicting loyalties, set in  well-realized world" ~ Robin Hobb

The Gathering of the Lost, The Wall of Night Book Two (2012 USA, UK/AU/NZ) was shortlisted for the Gemmell Legend Award in 2013:

"Helen Lowe's Wall Of Night series has the potential to become a classic, right up there with the likes of George RR Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire." ~ SF Site
