Thornspell is my first novel and is published by Knopf (Random House Children's Books, USA). It won the Sir Julius Vogel Award 2009 for Best Novel: Young Adult and was a Storylines Childrens' Literature Trust Notable Book 2009.

The only thing we get these days is winter storms (though with rain, not snow ๐ ).
There’s something magical about snow, isn’t there? We are having something very close to a drought here, so all the opposites are in play.
They look absolutely wonderful! I love peonies and have been contemplating paying the exorbitant wellington prices to get myself a bunch. I am sure they smell all the sweeter for having come from your own garden ๐
Charlotte, I invested in the bulbs a few years back and have never regretted it. And I’ll definitely be digging them up when the post-earthquake foundation repairs—the ones that are going to involve tearing out pretty much all my beautiful garden—eventually happen. ๐
