Two New Reviews: One for “The Heir of Night”; One for “The Gathering of the Lost”
It’s been a quiet time for reviews—but then two came though in the same twenty four hour period!
So here they are: an in-depth look at The Heir of Night — recently shortlisted for the Gemmell Morningstar Award, here — from Paul Weimer of SF Signal. You can read it here

.
And a review for The Gathering of the Lost from SFFANZ reviewer Simon Litten — here
I just finished “The Gathering of the Lost”. It is possibly the best sequel I have ever read, and definitely the best book I have read by a New Zealand author. Congrats!
Ed
Ed, thank you very much. The best reward for any author is when readers enjoy their storytelling, so thank you for taking the time to tell me so.
Rats, went to Whitcholls and they have plenty of Heir of night but book 2 is on order so i have to wait. Im meant to be writing an assignment and you know what that means… Im racing through my reread of The Heir of night at a furious pace :-),but then there will be a wait for the next. oh well, I should be a fever pitch by then. If you see a puff of smoke from the direction of Kaiapoi that will be me going up in smoke.
Jacqui, I really think you should read this blog post right here
I think that may help with your ‘puff of smoke’ concerns … 🙂
Haha That was the most fun link I ever clicked on. The excitement builds… email on the way.
Excellent!
