David Gemmell Legend Award Shortlisting Reprise — & BookSworn Giveaway Reminder
To start with last week brought some mighty big news: that The Gathering Of The Lost (The Wall Of Night Book Two) made it through to the shortlist of the international David Gemmell Legend Award 2013 for Best Fantasy Novel!
I posted on it in detail here, but would just like to say again how tremendously exciting it was and how much I appreciate all your tremendous support for me and for Gathering.
(If you’re keen to vote for the next and final round, just cast your eyes right to the link in the sidebar, below the ‘SHORTLISTED’ heading.:) )
And there may be another related announcement on Wendesday–but need confirmation myself before I can share here! A ‘watch this space’ for all of us. 😉
Meanwhile, my fellow shortlisted author, Mark Lawrence, and I have a joint giveaway running over on the BookSworn writers site (which we both belong to) and that’s open until Thursday so it’s not too late to enter, here.
New Tuesday Poem Series: War
Tomorrow I will be starting a new Tuesday poem series featuring poems themed around war, with the first poem up coming from my friend and fellow Christchurch poet, Barbara Strang.
A New Review From Andrew Robins: On Great North Road by Peter F Hamilton
It’s about time we had another review and so I’m pleased to be posting one on Great North Road this Thursday.
Just Arrived
I also have two wonderful new “Just Arrived” books to feature over the next week or so — another watch this space to find out what they are!
Looking Ahead: Featuring The Gathering Of The Lost
While Gathering is on the Legend Award shortlist (as above) it seems right to give it a bit more prominence on the blog, so I’ll be featuring a mix of excerpts, review quotes, and discussion posts; all strictly ad hoc as regular features allow.
Daughter Of Blood, The Wall Of Night Book Three
I know I keep promising you an update, and am hoping to get something up next week — but in the meantime I can assure you that I am diligently “writing on.” 🙂
I absolutely loved this series and couldn’t put it down as soon as I started reading. I’m usually picky (unfortunately)about the books that I like and really get into, and this had me hook, line, and sinker. I finished it in about a day and a half and am almost done with book 2. Can’t wait for book three! Thanks for writing such a captivating and exciting series. I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for Daughter of Blood!
I’m very glad you enjoyed the series so much, Jennifer — thank you for taking the time to stop by and tell me so. Am definitely “keeping going” with Daughter Of Blood.
