Oops, no Monday post yet — how can that be? But here’s a photo!
Oops, no Monday post until now — could the author possibly have been on holiday, swanning around the courntryside and playing hookie?
Well, that’s what happens when you live inside Middle Earth, you know, sometimes you just have to go there and back again, although I must admit I’m looking forward to the day when I bring home the chests of treaure!
No cargoes of “…diamonds, emeralds, amethysts, … and gold moidores” (Cargoes, John Masefield) this time, alas, but there was some consumption of “delicates …heap’d” with or without the “glowing hand” of Keats’ “The Eve of St Agnes.”
I provide the photo by way of evidence of the same. 😉
Living in Middle Earth has its hazards…and its rewards
It does indeed — and sometimes the ‘hazard’ is also the ‘reward.’ 😉
I just have to ask – what is the food in the picture ?
June, I’ve forgotten! The hors d’oeuvres weren’t on the menu so I don’t have anything to jog my memory, although it “might” have been eel — but I can tell you that everything we ate that night was delicious and the wines were “ooh-la-la.” And don’t you love the way the hors d’oeuvre is served on a barrel stave?! 😉
