Some Very Good News For “Daughter of Blood, The Wall Of Night Book Three”
I think you all know that I finished the manuscript for Daughter Of Blood (DAUGHTER), The Wall Of Night Book Three a short time ago, announced in a post titled O Frabjous Day (& indeed it was!)
Since then I have been reading through The Heir Of Night and The Gathering Of The Lost — as discussed in Reading M’Own Books: How That Went — and finally the DAUGHTER manuscript, ahead of receiving detailed editorial feedback. I’m expecting that this week, which means the edit will then be “all on.”
In the meantime, however, I have received very positive, overarching editorial feedback via the series’ lead editor (K. Nintzel of HarperVoyager, US), who has been kind enough to say that the overall story is “tremendous” and that one of the story’s new characters, Myr (the eponymous Daughter of Blood), is “terrific.” She even more kindly said that the final product was “well worth the wait” — so as I may fairly say that I have sweated (the again eponymous!) blood over this tale, I do hope she will be the first of many to feel that. 🙂
Now onwards into the official edit (because of course I made lost of notes while reading through the manuscript!)
Woot! I expect no less. Well worth all the sweat and travails.
I really do hope readers agree as well, because they are having to be very patient, which I do ‘feel.”
Excellent news, Helen!
There may also have been a huge exhalation of relief as well! 🙂
Awesome! 😀
That’s great news! 🙂
Hey, I just wanted to say that I absolutely love this series and have been waiting so patiently for it to come out, I was wondering when the release date is set for in NZ
Hi Jenna, I’m so glad you’re enjoying the series and I hope DAUGHTER will not disappoint–it’s been my big goal in all this. Given we’re still at edit phase now, I suspect it won’t be before 2015 now, though. I’m really hoping for earlier rather than later that year, but don’t have a date yet.(You know it’s the publisher that sets the date, right–once they have the book, of course.)
Great news for you. Very excited that this is nearing publication 🙂
Me too, re the ‘nearing’! And of course it means that you will “FINALLY” meet ‘your’ character(s)–who I am “pretty sure” will not disappoint. 😉
Thank you! I’m very excited to read the next book in this incredible series!
Thank you, Janice.
