Here’s my roundup of this week’s tweets celebrating NZ Speculative Fiction literature for #NZBookMonthMay:
Monday:
Keri Hulme, The Bone People (Magic Realism)
.
Russell Kirkpatrick, Across the Face of the World (Epic Fantasy)
.
Karen Healey, Guardian Of The Dead (Fantasy; YA)
.
Tina Makereti, Once Upon A Time In Aotearoa (Fantasy; Short Story collection)
.
Adam Christopher, Seven Wonders (Superhero Science Fiction)
.
Jane Higgins, The Bridge (Alternate dystopia; YA)
.
Fredrik Brounéous The Prince Of Soul And The Lighthouse (Fantasy; YA)
.
Shall I let you in on a secret? I don’t anticipate having any difficulty at all meeting my target of tweeting a book a day for the month — for the simple and very good reason that NZ authors are producing a wealth of high quality speculative fiction. Just sayin’
But let’s see if I can meet my target without tweeting an author more than once, even if some, like Elizabeth Knox and Margaret Mahy, have many eligible books of merit.
