A sonnet popularly believed to refer to Lady Anne Boleyn, when she was Henry VIII’s favourite, but before she became Queen.

I’ve always loved this poem – but then I love Thomas Wyatt. He also wrote a wonderful poem when he was imprisoned in the tower, about the danger of being close to absolute power!
Still a poet for our times then (she observes, very dryly.)
Intriguing. Wonderful language.
I agree, the language is very rich. Thanks for commenting, Helen.:)
