On Supernatural Now: “In Appreciation: Building on the Past & Helen Lowe’s The Wall of Night Series” — A Guest Post By Paul Weimer
As a member of Team Supernatural Underground, I’m delighted to host SFF genre writer and afficionado, Paul Weimer, as an SU guest this month.
Paul’s topic is the evolution of epic fantasy as a distinct subgenre of speculative fiction, which he charts from its contemporary inception. he has also used The Wall Of Night series as an example of the latest, “Fourth Era” of epic fantasy — there’s a wee bit of discussion going in the comments, too, about the evolution of the Fantasy heroine.
So if any or all of this sounds your cup of tea (or dram of something stronger 😉 ) then click on through and check out:

It is a good article, and I agree with it.
The nature of fantasy, epic fantasy including, has changed, and I think changed for the better imo.
