Funded! Canterbury Poets Are Across The Line!
Yes!! Canterbury Poets (CPC) have reached their Boosted fundraising goal, providing assurance for the next five (5) years of great poetry and performance in Christchurch.
And maybe, if they reach their stretch goal, farther afield. (See more below.)
I am so thrilled CPC have made it across the main fundraising line and have more financial security going forward. And very grateful to, and deeply appreciative of, everyone who donated and helped spread the word, for all the reasons in my two spruik posts, of September 19 and September 26.
Internationally renowned artists like Hinemoana Baker are part of the CPC poetry magic
OK — the Stretch Goal!
That’s for $3000 to help CPC buy their own audio equipment, which would enable a wider outreach for the events, in different regional centres, or beyond.
Currently CPC are running a Spring and Autumn season here in Christchurch, but making the stretch could see poetry for all seasons — I love that idea. 😀
(This was another gig, but) Tusiata Avia is another internationally & nationally recognised luminary of Canterbury poetry

Canterbury Poets’ Stretch Goal
It closes today, at ca. 4 pm NZ time — so although there’s time left, it’s a matter of hours now, not days.
Winner of the PM's Award for Poetry in 2022, Jim Norcliffe guided the CPC ship for many years.
Again — huge appreciation to everyone who’s donated already. Ka nui te mihi (thank you very much)!
