The latest stop on The Gathering of the Lost<\/strong><\/em> Blog Tour<\/a> is with Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences<\/strong> afficionadoes and fellow Voyager US authors Pip Ballantine<\/a> and Tee Morris<\/a> at “The Shared Desk”<\/a>—with a guest post on my love of adventure in storytelling and the overlaps I see between epic fantasy and steampunk:<\/p>\n

“I was delighted when Pip and Tee asked me to stop by here at The Shared Desk:\u00a0 not least because when I read the rambunctious, rollicking opening to their <\/em>Phoenix Rising<\/strong>, the first in the The Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences<\/strong> series, I thought, ah\u2014now here are a pair of storytellers who share my own love of an adventurous tale!<\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>This of course got me thinking, because although the Wall series is epic fantasy, steampunk is a genre I have loved since first reading Tim Powers\u2019 <\/em>The Anubis Gates<\/strong>\u2014and I have been a keen follower of Phil and Kaja Foglio\u2019s <\/em>Girl Genius Online<\/strong> for quite some time now\u2026 \u201cAdventure, romance, mad science\u201d\u2014what could be better? Unless, of course, it is \u201cadventure, romance, and \u2018strange magic!\u2019\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
