And because Fey<\/em><\/strong> was written as part of a sequence of poems I thought I’d re-post one of its companions, backwards<\/strong><\/em>, as my Tuesday Poem today:<\/p>\n

backwards<\/h3>\n

tomorrow
\nI will throw burned toast
\nto birds that flutter down
\nfrom the dying tree
\nin one corner
\nof the yard<\/p>\n

blackbird
\nflying backwards
\nas I step widdershins
\naround the old house
\nwith its sagging porch
\n& broke-back roof<\/p>\n

shade my eyes
\ntoward the smudge
\nof hills\u2014storm brewing
\nalong the tops<\/p>\n
