Well, I tweeted about my dinner party prep & some of the dishes, so now here are a few photos: a dinner party photo essay, if you will! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Like Clarissa, in 'Mrs Dalloway', I bought the flowers myself--amongst other things!<\/p><\/div>\n

The apple, cinnamon & sour cream cake, fresh from the oven<\/p><\/div>\n

...all ready for the guests<\/p><\/div>\n

The orange, carrot & cardamom soup; aka "sunshine in a bowl"<\/p><\/div>\n

Rack of lamb basted with a garlic, pomegranate molasses & za'atar blend, with autumn vegetable medley<\/p><\/div>\n

And the wines were:<\/p>\n

With the bread and cheese starter, and the soup: Felton Road<\/a> Dry Riesling<\/p>\n

With the lamb main: Chateau Mazeris Bellevue<\/a> Canon Fronsac\u00a0 (courtesy of CP Lin<\/a>)<\/p>\n

With the cake: Main Divide<\/a> Late Harvest Pokiri Reserve Pinot Gris<\/p>\n

The bread was the excellent ciabatta from the Canterbury Cheesemongers<\/a>, where I also purchased the Meyer<\/a> Maasdam cheese; the second cheese was the Kapiti Ramara<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
