Memories of Light<\/em> by Brandon Sanderson, the Final—yes Final!—Book In Robert Jordan’s Epic “Wheel of Time” series!<\/h3>\n

Memories of Light<\/em> will be out on January 8 and I am very excited that my NZ publisher, Hachette, are giving me the opportunity to do a giveaway for the new book ahead of that date.<\/p>\n

Full details will be on the blog Monday 17, but I just wanted to give all my readers who are Wheel of Time<\/strong> fans a headsup to look out for that.<\/p>\n

Tomorrow, December 16, is my friend and fellow author, Ripley Patton’s<\/a> birthday—and she plans on celebrating by releasing the hardcover edition of her debut YA novel, Ghost Hand<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

She will also be doing a guest post right here on “…Anything, Really”<\/em> talking about the characters in her new novel, particularly the central protagonist, Olivia Black.<\/p>\n

As the blogmaster-general, I have already read the post and can tell you that it’s a great read and well worth checking out tomorrow.<\/p>\n

And hey, I know a lot of you are a wee bit shy of commenting, which is fair enough—but Ripley is a debut novelist, so perhaps consider showing her your appreciation with a comment. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>A Review: Aralorn<\/em> by Patricia Briggs<\/h3>\n

Yes , it’s about time we had an another review and so I’m very pleased to say that Andrew Robins has read the recently released Aralorn<\/em><\/strong> by Patricia Briggs. This is not a new Mercy Thompson novel–that will be next year, and yes, I already have my hand up!—but is actually epic fantasy and comprises two earlier novels republished in one edition:\u00a0Masques<\/em><\/strong> and Wolfsbane<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

So that will be on the blog some time next week. (But not Monday, because of the Memories of Light<\/em> giveaway post., above, and not Tuesday because that would be out-rageous<\/em> given Tuesdays belong to the Tuesday Poem!)<\/p>\n

I shall be guest editor on the Tuesday Poem Hub<\/a> this week, where I will be featuring a poem by Sarah Broom, from her wonderful Tigers at Awhitu<\/em><\/strong> collection (Auckland University Press, 2010.)<\/p>\n

And my Tuesday poem here on “<\/em><\/strong>…Anything, Really”<\/em> will be Riemke Ensing’s\u00a0 Oh Lucky Man, so all in all I think this Tuesday’s going to be an excellent day for poetry and a grande finale for the poetry year. (The Tuesday Poem Hub will not resume until late January.)<\/p>\n
