It&#8217;s an impressive looking book and I loved the film <strong><em>Julie: Julia<\/em><\/strong> so am going to be very interested to see if my interest in food and in Julia Child will see me through the 529 pages, given biography is generally not my vein of reading gold.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/2013\/01\/20\/two-more-holiday-books-both-for-the-foodie\/aglobalfeast\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-18335\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-18335\" title=\"AGlobalFeast\" src=\"https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/AGlobalFeast.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"174\" srcset=\"https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/AGlobalFeast.jpg 150w, https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/AGlobalFeast-129x150.jpg 129w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>The second book was a New Year&#8217;s gift: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.otago.ac.nz\/press\/booksauthors\/2012\/aglobalfeast.html\"><strong><em>A global feast: traditional meals in a new homeland<\/em><\/strong><\/a> by Afife Skafi Harris &amp; Beryl Lee (Otago University Press, 2012.)<\/p>\n<p>This is a recipe book in which immigrant New Zealanders from 26 different cultures showcase their culinary traditions. It looks wonderful&#8212;as well as being simply a fabulous idea&#8212;and I am looking forward to studying it in more detail and giving some of the recipes a try.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em><\/em><\/strong>How about you-all?
