The fun starts with the ultimate ekphrastic poem post as tomorrow’s Tuesday Poem<\/a>. This series, focusing on poems in response to works of art, began on March 26 with my poem Ti<\/em><\/a>, and will finish with an art work from friend, artist & fellow poet, Claire Beynon<\/a>, in response to one of my earthquake sequence poems: great stuff!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Here’s SpecFicNZ<\/a>-Christchurch<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Another series I’ve been running for the past six weeks is Here’s SpecFicNZ-Christchurch<\/a> and on Wednesday we’ll also have our ultimate profile, featuring SpecFicNZ-er, Tim Stead<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

It’s been a lot of fun and you seem to have enjoyed it as well, so I’m putting my thinking cap on regarding having a regular spot for other writers. If you have for how this might work, feel free to comment. Any and all ideas welcome.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Something Extra Special: The Inside Story On Translating Dan Brown’s Inferno<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Over Thursday and Friday, I shall be bringing you something I feel is extra special. Marion Drolsbach, the Dutch translator for The Heir of Night<\/strong> (Kind van de Nacht<\/strong>)<\/em>, was one of three called in to undertake the translation (again into Dutch) of Dan Brown’s Inferno<\/strong><\/em>. This made quite a story and offers an insight into the world of mega bestselling titles, so I’m delighted Marion is willing to retell it for you here—and the account carries on into the\u00a0 launch of the book in The Netherlands, which is why the story will be posted over two days.<\/p>\n

Well, I’m hopeful next week may bring a review of\u00a0 Peter F Hamilton’s Great North Road<\/strong><\/em> from Andrew Robins, and maybe, just maybe, a Daughter Of Blood<\/em><\/strong> (WT) update–although I am always mindful, to paraphrase Lao Tzu, that ‘the book that can be spoken of, is not the book.’<\/p>\n
