{"id":22,"date":"2010-06-04T17:51:31","date_gmt":"2010-06-04T05:51:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/?p=22"},"modified":"2010-11-21T12:01:24","modified_gmt":"2010-11-20T23:01:24","slug":"its-friday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/2010\/06\/04\/its-friday\/","title":{"rendered":"It&#8217;s Friday!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>And on Friday&#8217;s, I&#8217;ll be telling you:<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>What I&#8217;m working on:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Today that&#8217;s been continuing to write Part 2 of the second book in The Wall of Night series, working title <strong>The Gathering of the Lost. <\/strong>Writing in this case includes a mix of revising the first draft and writing in new material, driven by considerations such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>do all these plot threads tie together in a consistent way?<\/li>\n<li>are the characters evolving in the way I envisioned when first setting out to write the story arc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In my experience, the story arc always remains true as the book evolves, but there can be a LOT of shifting around of characters and plot within that framework &#8230; (just to make that more appropriate, there are shapeshifters in this book \ud83d\ude42 )<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>What I&#8217;m Reading: <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>At the moment that&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.trudicanavan.com\/\"><strong>Trudi Canavan&#8217;s<\/strong> <\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.trudicanavan.com\/books\/the-traitor-spy-trilogy\/the-ambassador%E2%80%99s-mission\/\"><em><strong>The Ambassador&#8217;s Mission<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, the first in the series that is sequel to her <a href=\"http:\/\/www.trudicanavan.com\/books\/the-black-magician-trilogy\/\"><em><strong>Black Magician Trilogy<\/strong>.<\/em><\/a> This new trilogy, set in the same world and with some of the same characters, is called the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.trudicanavan.com\/books\/the-traitor-spy-trilogy\/\"><em><strong>Traitor Spy Trilogy.<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I have only just started but am looking forward to the read and\u2014I hope\u2014will get to interview Trudi on air later this month.<\/p>\n<p>Enjoy your weekend!<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>And on Friday&#8217;s, I&#8217;ll be telling you: What I&#8217;m working on: Today that&#8217;s been continuing to write Part 2 of the second book in The Wall of Night series, working title The Gathering of the Lost.
