Last week I posted on having made the shortlist<\/a> for the 2014 Sir Julius Vogel Award <\/a>for \u201cServices to Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror.<\/strong>\u201d I also posted the citation, which includes mention of my \u201c\u2026 blog and \u2026 space in SF Signal and [my] presence at events to inform the world\u201d <\/em>of NZ SFF.<\/p>\n

So over the past few days I’ve been posting some of those interviews, guest author features, and articles on NZ speculative fiction literature. Today I thought I’d reprise the “A Peek Inside Tales For Canterbury<\/em><\/strong>” post series.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Tales For Canterbury<\/em><\/strong> was a project initiated by fellow SpecFicNZ-ers Cassie Hart <\/a>and Anna Caro<\/a>, and published by Random Static<\/a>: an anthology of short fiction put together as a fundraiser for the Red Cross Christchurch Earthquake Appeal following the February 22nd earthquake in particular. So of course it had my wholehearted support,\u00a0 including donating one of my short stories, The Fountain<\/em>. Although the anthology also had widespread international support from writers such as Neil Gaiman, Jay Lake, and the Van Der Meers (to name only a few), a large number of NZ speculative fiction writers also donated stories.<\/p>\n

To support the book and the fundraising cause, I featured several of the stories in a special blog series, “A Peek Inside Tales For Canterbury<\/em>“<\/a>, mostly focusing on some of the NZ (or then, NZ resident) authors — so here they are:<\/p>\n
