Each entry has been accompanied by a quote from the books in which the place appears, whether <a href=\"http:\/\/helenlowe.info\/heirofnight.html\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The Heir Of Night<\/em><\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/helenlowe.info\/gatheringofthelost.html\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The Gathering Of The Lost<\/em><\/a><em> (<\/em>or both.)<\/p>\n<p>The series followed an alphabetical approach, starting with &#8220;A&#8221; (<a href=\"https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/2013\/02\/08\/a-geography-of-haarth-academy-island\/\" target=\"_blank\">Academy Island<\/a>) and working through to the final locale of <a href=\"https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/2014\/11\/14\/a-geography-of-haarth-wymark\/\" target=\"_blank\">Wymark <\/a>under &#8220;W.&#8221;\u00a0 The further reflections include noting that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The majority of Haarth place names occur under &#8220;T&#8221;, with 11 locales ranging from <a href=\"https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/2014\/06\/20\/a-geography-of-haarth-telimbras\/\" target=\"_blank\">Telimbras<\/a> to the <a href=\"https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/2014\/09\/05\/a-geography-of-haarth-towers-of-morning\/\" target=\"_blank\">Towers of Morning<\/a>; and<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The bulk of place names also occur at the beginning and end of the alphabet, with 7 under\u00a0 &#8220;A&#8221; and 8 under &#8220;B&#8221; respectively, and the same again under &#8220;S&#8221; and &#8220;T&#8221; (as well as the 11 under &#8220;T&#8221;);<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>But (again so far) there are no entries at all under &#8220;Q&#8221;, &#8220;U&#8221;,\u00a0&#8220;X&#8221;, &#8220;Y&#8221; and &#8220;Z&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In terms of where in Haarth the locales fall, so far the Wall Of Night story has canvassed the following number of places in each of the following regions:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Aralorn:<\/strong> 2<\/p>\n<p><strong>Emer:<\/strong> 26<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gray Lands\/Jaransor:<\/strong> 6<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ishnapur:<\/strong> 3<\/p>\n<p>(Diverse) <strong>Other:<\/strong> 10<\/p>\n<p><strong>River:<\/strong> 23<\/p>\n<p><strong>Supernatural Realms:<\/strong> 2<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wall of Night:<\/strong> 15<\/p>\n<p>And there you have it: that&#8217;s what nigh on 2 years of Fantasy geography and worldbuilding fun will get you. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Although I titled last week&#8217;s A Geography Of Haarth post the final roundup I realized that I had a few more final reflections to share, mostly of a number-crunching nature.
