\"Lake<\/a>On Wednesday, I focused on the Wild South <\/a>part of m’road trip, which ended with some ‘classic’ shots of Queenstown and its environs.<\/p>\n

While there, I had also posted some photos of autumn colour<\/a> around Lake Hayes.<\/p>\n

The day I took those days was almost perfect and the wider environment around the lake — a wee jewel caught in the hills between Queenstown and Arrowtown — is also worthy of a closer look.<\/p>\n

\"Lake<\/a>Despite the tranquil waters, you can still see the raw power in the landscape.<\/p>\n

Schist rock is one of the area’s traditional building materials, although not all the old buildings are in such good condition as the one immediately below:<\/p>\n

And rising beyond lake, trees, and hills, the snow of what I ‘think’ is one of New Zealand’s more famous mountain’s, because of its ski field, Coronet Peak: \"Lake<\/a><\/p>\n
