The recent unveiling of the US<\/a>\u00a0 and UK<\/a> covers for Daughter Of Blood<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 has inspired me to spend some on-blog time with the characters from the first two books in the series—in the same way I spent time on the worldbuilding in A Geography Of Haarth<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I also decided to on the more minor players to begin with, because: \u201cI think it\u2019s the presence of the smaller characters that \u201cmakes\u201d a story, creating texture around the main points of view.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

I’m starting at the beginning, with \u201cA\u201d and characters in\u00a0The Heir Of Night<\/em><\/a>, the first book in The Wall Of Night<\/a> series.<\/p>\n

“I felt them go,” Armar muttered, “felt them being torn away, blotted out, but I couldn’t do anything. I wasn’t strong enough to hold on to them\u2014the Nine Gods forgive me! I tried, but I couldn’t do it.”<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
