Although Harvey had been ill for some time, and <a href=\"http:\/\/stoatspring.blogspot.com\/2010\/12\/tuesday-poem-increasingly-by-harvey.html\">very recently posted<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;&#8230; my cruel malady<br \/>\nspurs me to confess<br \/>\nincreasingly, I<br \/>\nlong for oblivion&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I was nonetheless taken by surprise yesterday, when I <a href=\"http:\/\/stoatspring.blogspot.com\/2011\/01\/last-post.html\">read here<\/a> of his death.<\/p>\n<p>I had only known Harvey a short time through the Tuesday Poem blog but was impressed by his intelligence and generosity of spirit.
