The societies of The Hundred and its adjoining realms are diverse and textured, as are the landscapes and cultural mythologies, so that the world really springs to life.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/2015\/10\/09\/what-im-reading-kate-elliotts-crossroads-trilogy\/shadow-gate\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-30227\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-30227\" src=\"https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Shadow-Gate-95x150.jpg\" alt=\"Shadow Gate\" width=\"95\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Shadow-Gate-95x150.jpg 95w, https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Shadow-Gate-191x300.jpg 191w, https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Shadow-Gate.jpg 254w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 95px) 100vw, 95px\" \/><\/a>But its not just world building: there is a cast of interesting and compelling characters and an engaging epic fantasy yarn being told.
