It’s now only three months to the publication of Daughter of Blood<\/em><\/strong> — huzza!<\/p>\n

But that fact, together with the recent cover reveals here, there, and everywhere (!), inspired me to spend some blog time with The Wall Of Night <\/a>series\u2019 characters, in the same way I spent time on the worldbuilding in A Geography Of Haarth<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I also decided to start by focusing on minor players to begin with, because: \u201cI think it\u2019s the presence of the smaller characters that \u201cmakes\u201d a story, creating texture around the main points of view.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

And today’s character is (drum roll)<\/em>:<\/p>\n

Jiron:<\/strong>\u00a0 scribe to the Earl of Night<\/span><\/p>\n

“Jiron, the Earl’s scribe, stood beside Teron … and he turned his head with a quick, unhappy smile.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

“Not good?” she murmured and he shook his head.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

“Very bad,” he replied, equally softly. “We have won the battle it seems, but at a bitter cost …”<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
