\"Thief's<\/a>Last Sunday<\/a>, I owned up to Trudi Canavan’s<\/a> Angel of Storms<\/em><\/strong> being the latest book on my teetery-tottery TBR table.<\/p>\n

Which is great, but it spurred me on to seize the first book in Trudi’s new Millenium’s Rule<\/strong> series from the middle of that precarious pile — and yes, total collapse did almost ensue — and Start Reading.<\/p>\n

So that’s what I’m busy reading this long weekend (yes, it is a long weekend here — Canterbury Anniversary Day, no less.)<\/p>\n

In last weekend’s post, I linked to an early review<\/a> of Angel of Storms<\/em><\/strong> that said, (among much else): “the world(s) building is awesome<\/i>.”<\/span><\/p>\n

I have to say, I com-ple-at-ly agree with respect to Thief’s Magic<\/em><\/strong>. I am very impressed by the world-(or ‘worlds’, I havena quite determined which it is yet)-building. There are two distinct milieux (and point-of-view characters) — the one steampunkish (nice!) and Victorian, the other Renaissance-Italianate (also good.)<\/p>\n

The magic system is also interesting and it’s clear thought has gone into how it all works.<\/p>\n

Suffice it to say that I am looking forward to “reading on” over the weekend.<\/p>\n
