The latest episode of 58 Eridani<\/strong><\/em> will post tomorrow, so I apologise to any disappointed followers of the game log—but in the meantime, here’s some Saturday fun for ya. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

\"Autumn<\/a>Firstly, although between trees<\/a> and book launches<\/a> I have not had much opportunity to pursue my quest for the perfect orange cake recipe, but I still had some fun last night throwing together an autumn galette for the Friday crowd. The recipe nods to Nigella for the use of polenta in the pie crust (gives it nice crunch) but otherwise it was just a matter of using what was to hand — in this case, nectarines and plums, with a sprinkling of sliced almonds from the pantry. It tasted great, though.<\/p>\n

\"Akaroa,<\/a>

Recognise this guy?<\/p><\/div>\n

I’ve headed out to Akaroa a couple of times recently, not just to look at trees like the fabulous Cooptown limes, but also to take in other local sites like the Giant’s House garden (which is officially of “National Significance.”) Here are a few other locals I met en route…<\/p>\n
