The tree is looking a tad wintry in this shot, but you can see it has a really nice shape and will be glorious in summer. I look forward to the day when I can get to sit under it again.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/2016\/03\/13\/meet-some-more-of-christchurchs-heritage-notable-trees\/northern-rata-lavericks-ridge-rd\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-31704\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-31704\" src=\"https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Northern-Rata-Lavericks-Ridge-Rd-224x300.jpg\" alt=\"Northern Rata Lavericks Ridge Rd\" width=\"172\" height=\"230\" srcset=\"https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Northern-Rata-Lavericks-Ridge-Rd-224x300.jpg 224w, https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Northern-Rata-Lavericks-Ridge-Rd-112x150.jpg 112w, https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Northern-Rata-Lavericks-Ridge-Rd-765x1024.jpg 765w, https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Northern-Rata-Lavericks-Ridge-Rd.jpg 775w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 172px) 100vw, 172px\" \/><\/a>Meet the Le Bons&#8217; Bay Northern Rata:<\/h3>\n<p>This Northern Rata, located at Le Bons Bay on Banks Peninsula, is reputedly both the largest and oldest of this species within the wider Christchurch City area.<\/p>\n<p>It is said to be in the region of 150 years of age&#8212;it still looks pretty durned good though, doesn&#8217;t it?<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/2016\/03\/13\/meet-some-more-of-christchurchs-heritage-notable-trees\/48-park-terrace-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-31705\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-31705\" src=\"https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/48-Park-Terrace-2-300x262.jpg\" alt=\"48 Park Terrace-2\" width=\"220\" height=\"192\" srcset=\"https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/48-Park-Terrace-2-300x262.jpg 300w, https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/48-Park-Terrace-2-150x131.jpg 150w, https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/48-Park-Terrace-2.jpg 1018w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 220px) 100vw, 220px\" \/><\/a>Meet the 48 Park Terrace Oak:<\/h3>\n<p>This is a standout tree in the central city area surrounding Christchurch&#8217;s Hagley Park &#8212; but like the two trees above, the Council didn&#8217;t think it warranted continued inclusion in the Plan.<\/p>\n<p>The group I&#8217;m supporting have a different view &#8212; but they&#8217;re still really up against it in terms of fundraising and trying to maintain a presence in what is now an extended hearing process.<\/p>\n<p>So if you feel able to help, please check out the Give A Little:<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/givealittle.co.nz\/fundraiser\/chchnotabletrees\/\" target=\"_blank\">Help Us Save Christchurch\u2019s Heritage and Notable Trees<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>The team will really appreciate it.
