The tagline is, <em>&#8220;After the natural disaster comes the manmade tragedy.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>As far as I know little fiction has yet been written about the 2010-11 earthquakes and their aftermath, and it is always challenging to fictionalise events one is close to, so this should be an interesting read &#8212; although being very much in aftermath mode still, I am not sure whether I am up to reading about it for entertainment yet!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/?attachment_id=33409\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-33409\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-33409\" src=\"https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Into-The-Mist-97x150.jpg\" alt=\"into-the-mist\" width=\"97\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Into-The-Mist-97x150.jpg 97w, https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Into-The-Mist-193x300.jpg 193w, https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Into-The-Mist.jpg 306w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 97px) 100vw, 97px\" \/><\/a>Into The Mist<\/em><\/strong> by Lee Murray<\/p>\n<p>Lee Murray is a friend and fellow member of SpecFicNZ and <a href=\"https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/2013\/06\/20\/what-im-reading-battle-of-the-birds-by-lee-murray\/\" target=\"_blank\">I discussed her junior novel, <em>Battle of the Birds<\/em><\/a>, here in 2013. More recently Lee has focused on writing Horror for adults and <em>Into the Mist<\/em> was published this year. It already has a significant number of reviews on Amazon, over that <a href=\"https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/2016\/09\/30\/sharing-the-love\/\" target=\"_blank\">magic 50 mark that I discussed recently<\/a>, with an overall 4.4 rating, which is pretty impressive.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Needless to say, the TBR table is groaning &#8212; but I do <em>not<\/em> say that like it is a bad thing. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sometimes, reader-Helen chugs along quietly for months, working her way through the TBR table &#8212; and then, suddenly, there&#8217;ll be an inrush of new books.
