She is recognised as one of New Zealand\u2019s more distinctive poetic voices and received the highly prestigious Prime Minister&#8217;s Award for Poetry in 2015. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Bernadette has also been an Artists in Antarctica Fellow in 2004, the 2006 Victoria University Writer in Residence, and in 2007 held the Rathcoola Residency in Donoughmore, Ireland. Bernadette\u2019s 2009 collection, <i><b>The Lustre Jug,<\/b><\/i> (Victoria University Press), was a finalist for the 2010 NZ Post Book Award for Poetry. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"> To date, she has published eleven collections of poetry, the most recent being <i><b>\u2018Maukatere, floating mountain\u2019<\/b><\/i> with artwork by Rachel O&#8217;Neill (Seraph Press, 2016). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/?attachment_id=33557\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-33557\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-33557 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Maukatere_Floating-Mountain-250x300.jpg\" alt=\"maukatere_floating-mountain\" width=\"164\" height=\"196\" srcset=\"https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Maukatere_Floating-Mountain-250x300.jpg 250w, https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Maukatere_Floating-Mountain-125x150.jpg 125w, https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Maukatere_Floating-Mountain.jpg 349w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 164px) 100vw, 164px\" \/><\/a><span style=\"color: #333333;\">In 2013, her edition of poems by the Christchurch writer, Lorna Staveley Anker, was published by Canterbury University Press. Titled <i><b>\u2018The Judas Tree\u2019<\/b><\/i> it reveals Lorna Anker as New Zealand\u2019s first woman war poet with memories of both World Wars.
