And about relooking at some of the considerable depth of material in the blog backlist.<\/p>\n<p>I thought I&#8217;d start today with six posts that you have particularly liked over the past six years &#8212; one for each year (but not necessarily <em>from<\/em> each year since this is about what has proven the &#8220;most-read&#8221;) of <em>&#8220;&#8230;on Anything, Really&#8217;s&#8221;<\/em> life. Without question, readers have really liked and kept coming back to my 2012 interview with Kristin Cashore. Poetry has proven popular and this time it&#8217;s the critically praised &#8220;The Fox&#8221; by NZ poet Bernadette Hall. I featured two, more recent poems by Bernadette <a href=\"https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/2016\/11\/01\/tuesday-poetry-two-short-poems-by-bernadette-hall\/\" target=\"_blank\">just this past Tuesday<\/a>, but this is the very first poem of hers I featured on the blog, awa&#8217; back on 17 August, 2010:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><em><strong>The Fox <\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><em>The fox is a single red stroke that cuts across<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #333333;\"><em> the clearing. Next off the blocks is one of my many &#8220;list&#8221; posts, <em>My Favourite Fantasy Standalone Novels<\/em>, this time from the 30th of January 2013.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><em>&#8220;With this list though, it\u2019s just \u201cFantasy\u201d because I honestly couldn\u2019t think of 10 standalone epic fantasy novels\u2014epic really does seem to run to series! I should also note that I tried to stick to one book per author, otherwise around four on my list would be by Guy Gavriel Kay. The poets certainly seem to have their following and another Tuesday Poem feature, <em>AB Negative (The Surgeon&#8217;s Poem)<\/em> by US poet Brian Turner, has also proved an enduring favourite &#8212; from back in that vintage year, 2012:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><em>&#8220;<\/em><\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><em>AB Negative (The Surgeon\u2019s Poem)<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><em>Thalia Fields lies under a grey ceiling of clouds,<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #333333;\"><em> just under the turbulence, with anesthetics<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #333333;\"><em> dripping from an IV into her arm,<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #333333;\"><em> and the flight surgeon says The shrapnel<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #333333;\"><em> cauterized as it traveled through her<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #333333;\"><em> here, breaking this rib as it entered,<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #333333;\"><em> burning a hole through the left lung<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #333333;\"><em> to finish in her back, and all of this<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #333333;\"><em> she doesn\u2019t hear&#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>You will find the full poem at:<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/2012\/01\/24\/tuesday-poem-ab-negative-the-surgeons-poem-by-brian-turner\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tuesday Poem: \u201cAB Negative (The Surgeon\u2019s Poem)\u201d by Brian Turner<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">.<\/span><br \/>\n6. The sixth post readers kept returning to for quite some time was the synopsis for <em>Daughter of Blood<\/em> that I posted in early 2014 &#8212; which is, I must admit, rather gratifying. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">&#8220;But also very cool (I thought!) was the sneak preview on the synopsis for DAUGHTER:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><em>\u201cA Failing Wall, a Broken Shield\u2026 Malian and Kalan are pursuing separate paths back to the Derai Alliance \u2013 but already it may be too late&#8230;.&#8221;<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Wanna reread the original for old times sake and decide if it does accurately and aptly foretell <em>Daughter of Blood<\/em> as published?
