from the hill<\/strong><\/p>\n

boats turn
\nat their moorings,
\nfacing into the wind:<\/p>\n

I can see every
\nshift in the weather
\nfrom up here,<\/i>
\nshe says, standing
\nat my shoulder \u2014
\nthe boats better
\nthan any
\nweathervane…<\/i><\/p>\n

we take our tea
\nout, onto a deck
\nmade of timber
\nfrom old hulks
\ndredged out
\nof harbour mud,
\nshe speaks
\nof the home to
\nwhich she does
\nnot return, of the
\nmuch younger man
\nwho will not let
\nher go \u2014 nor she him \u2014
\nturns again to watch
\nthe boats, talks
\nof a change
\nin the wind.<\/p>\n
