Yep, it’s exactly a year to the day since Daughter of Blood<\/em> was published — and of course it feels like yesterday and forever at the same time!<\/p>\n

We had some fun, too, including the reveal of DAUGHTER’s Tuckerization character, Che’Ryl-g-Raham<\/a>, as well as the Tuckerization draw for WALL 4<\/a> which gave me a new character name to weave into the series, one June Gum Young.<\/p>\n

The Daughter of Blood<\/em><\/strong> and Wall of Night<\/a> fun continued into May when the series’ got its own FaceBook group, fittingly titled Haarth<\/a><\/b> — all set up by readers so they could discuss the story, the characters and the world. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

The immediate consequence was a Q&A on Twitter at #TheWallOfNight<\/a> where I answered questions and chatted with readers about DAUGHTER and the series.<\/p>\n

Professional and semi-pro reviews have been steady and generally very positive, kicking off with Romantic Times<\/b> calling Daughter<\/i>:<\/p>\n

“a heady imaginative tale full of Lowe’s haunting prose and bold characters, that builds to a startling climax that will leave readers anxious for more.”<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

It was fantastic, too, to round off the year with DAUGHTER making Fantasy Literature’s<\/strong> list of Favourite Books of 2016<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And very nice, too, to see Daughter of Blood<\/em> featured on my US publisher, Harper Voyager’s “Awards Season Is Upon Us”<\/a> post — and with the pleasure of such excellent company, too: all fellow travellers published in 2016.<\/p>\n

As for 2017, my wish is that both DAUGHTER and the WALL series’ following continues to grow (even unto Facebook Group Haarth becoming it’s own demographic — now wouldn’t that<\/em> be nice… \ud83d\ude00 ) while I beaver ahead with WALL4.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
