The A Geography of Haarth<\/a> post series explores the full range of locales and places from\u00a0The Wall Of Night<\/a> world of Haarth.<\/p>\n

From January 25, 2013 to November 25, 2014, the posts traversed locations encountered in The Heir Of Night<\/em><\/a> and The Gathering Of The Lost<\/em><\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Now the series returns to gazette the geography of Daughter Of Blood<\/em><\/a> (The Wall Of Night Book Three.)\u00a0 The new series comprises updates of previous entries as well as new listings.<\/p>\n

Emer:<\/strong>\u00a0 one of the Southern Realms of Haarth, located south of the River<\/span>

‘Malian rested one forefinger on the table that was one of the greatest treasures of the Red and White suite, in the Earl’s quarter of the New Keep.\u00a0 A map of the Wall and all the known lands of Haarth had been etched into the wood and inlaid with precious metals to show the salient details of each country…Malian’s dark, slender brows were drawn together, the set of her young mouth thoughtful as she spun the table surface slowly round, so that the Wall and surrounding Gray Lands gave way to the Barren Hills, then to the River and all the countries to the south.\u00a0 A line of pewter marked the thousand leagues of road that ran from Emer to fabled Ishnapur and beyond that again was the vast and unknown desert, a sea of dunes wrought in jasper, topaz and bronze.’<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

‘The market was famous for its trade in armor and weapons sourced from every corner of Haarth, which Tarathan had assured him would include Derai equipment. Kalan had found the herald was right, although most of what he examined had been the generic armament the Derai Alliance traded with the River and Southern Realms of Haarth. But because more Derai had been traveling south in recent years, mainly to the River, but a handful into Emer and Lathayra as well, he was able to find a scabbard with the House of Blood\u2019s hydra stamp and a cuirass in the distinctive deep-red steel particular to the warrior House.’<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
