In 2017, I resumed my \u201cAbout the Characters\u201d<\/a> post series that focuses on the minor characters in The Wall Of Night<\/a> series, because :<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s the presence of the smaller characters that \u201cmakes\u201d a story, creating texture around the main points of view.\u201d

Initially, the series focused exclusively on characters from The Heir of Night<\/em><\/a>, but now I\u2019m continuing on with minor characters from both The Gathering Of The Lost<\/em><\/a> and Daughter of Blood<\/em><\/a> simultaneously \u2014 in alphabetical order, of course!<\/p>\n
(The quotes, together with the covers, indicate whether the character appears in both or only one of the books\u2014although today’s the first time we’ve broken out of single entries for a while!)<\/p>\n

It\u2019s always a sly wind, too. The only place it eases off is close to Jaransor, although it doesn\u2019t pay to get too close to those hills.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

He and Keron were new recruits to Garan\u2019s unit of Night veterans, but Eanar came from Westwind Hold where Nhairin had been confined. Garan suspected he construed Keep of Winds\u2019 honor guards being sent to retrieve the fugitive as a slight to his former comrades. \u201cMazed or not,\u201d Eanar persisted now, \u201cshe betrayed the Heir to her death in Jaransor.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
