The A Geography of Haarth<\/a>\u00a0post series is designed to traverse the full range of gazetted locales and places from\u00a0The Wall Of Night<\/a>\u00a0world of Haarth.<\/p>\n

From January 25, 2013 to November 25, 2014, the series explored locations encountered in\u00a0The Heir Of Night<\/em><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0The Gathering Of The Lost<\/em><\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Now the series has resumed to traverse the geography of\u00a0Daughter Of Blood<\/em><\/a>\u00a0(The Wall Of Night Book Three.)\u00a0 The new series comprises updates of previous entries as well as new listings.<\/p>\n

Sea Keep:\u00a0 <\/strong>chief\u00a0stronghold of the Derai Alliance\u2019s Sea House<\/span>

Even so, there were stories\u2026 Kalan had heard that there were weather workers in the Sea Keep who paced its walls in savage weather, their physical forms fraying into the elements.\u00a0 Behavior like that drew attention, but it might be possible for those with lesser powers to survive undetected, even amongst other Derai.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

I can ride with them to Port Farewell and take ship for Grayharbor, then find another there to reach the Sea Keep. But I need to say good-bye to the others first, and see Jarn.\u201d He took the gauntlets from his belt, but did not put them on. \u201cI will meet you back here afterward and we can settle any other plans before I leave.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThere is a memorial with twelve sides in the Sea Keep, lying between the shrines to Terennin, the Farseer, and Ornorith of the Two Faces.\u201d Che’Ryl-g-Raham’s eyes flicked back to Kalan’s, as if sensing that he had encountered a space enclosed by twelve walls before. \u201cThe sides are paneled in alternating black and silver, each one depicting a distinctive pattern of stars, none of which belong to this world.\u201d Again she paused, as if inviting his comment. \u201cI was taught,\u201d she continued, when he remained silent, \u201cthat they chart every star system we\u2019ve traversed in our war with the Swarm, until we came through the Great Gate. They may even extend all the way back to the beginnings of the Derai. I had the engraving made,\u201d she finished softly, \u201cto remind me of that possibility.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

From the stars we came\u2014and she was a navigator, so more than anyone else in the Derai would be mindful of that tradition.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
