The\u00a0About The Characters<\/a>\u00a0post series focuses on the minor characters in\u00a0The Wall Of Night<\/a>\u00a0series, in large part because:<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s the presence of the smaller characters that \u201cmakes\u201d a story, creating texture around the main points of view.\u201d

Initially, the series focused exclusively on characters from\u00a0The Heir of Night<\/em><\/a>, but now I\u2019m continuing on with minor characters from both\u00a0The Gathering Of The Lost<\/em><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Daughter of Blood<\/em><\/a> \u2014 in alphabetical order, of course!<\/p>\n
At present, we’re very much in Daughter of Blood<\/em> territory, and the realm of “K.” \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n

Kion:\u00a0<\/strong>physician to Lord Nimor, the House of Sea envoy to the warrior Houses of Blood and Night<\/span><\/p>\n
\u201cDo we take the bodies down?\u201d Murn sounded uncertain.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
\u201cAnd speak Hurulth\u2019s first rite, at least,\u201d Kion, the Sea physician, suggested.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
\u201cWe leave them.\u201d Kalan heard his own harshness as he surveyed the grisly row again. \u201cThey’re beyond caring, and our priority has to be the caravan.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
\u201cI agree,\u201d Nimor said, as grim as Kalan. \u201cUndoubtedly, they\u2019re intended as a warning, so let others who pass by heed it.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
Kalan turned Madder back onto the road, and first Taly and then the rest of the company followed, the wyr hounds flowing around them like a tide. They held the horses to a steady pace, but everyone was tense, intent on the surrounding terrain, and no one spoke. <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
