Well, the vampire goes &#8220;grr-argh&#8221; (or some variant thereof) and the unwary runs away screaming (if they&#8217;re lucky&#8230;)<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_30117\" style=\"width: 103px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30117\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-30117\" src=\"https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/HeirofNight_New_USA-93x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"93\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/HeirofNight_New_USA-93x150.jpg 93w, https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/HeirofNight_New_USA-186x300.jpg 186w, https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/HeirofNight_New_USA.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 93px) 100vw, 93px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-30117\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Inclusion&#8230;<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In less elevated environs, such as those surrounding the writing of books, they could also be called moments of hair-tearing, or alternatively, head-desking.<\/p>\n<p>Continuity errors are a reliable source of such moments, i.e. when the author realises they can&#8217;t do <em>x-y-z<\/em> here, as long planned, because way back whenever, the character or characters did <em>a-b-c<\/em> under the same or near-similar circumstances. So to do <em>x-y-z<\/em> now would be inconsistent: shock, horror.
