<\/p>\nRecently I was visiting a friend and discovered this upon her windowsill. Isn\u2019t it beautiful?<\/p>\n

I have never seen a dragonfly this large up close before, and at first I wasn\u2019t quite sure it was real. My friend is a very \u201ccrafty\u201d person, you see, so I wouldn\u2019t 100% put it past her powers to create something at this level of detail.<\/p>\n
The more closely I looked, though, the more certain I felt that it was real. The detail and intricacy were just too, you know, real<\/em>.<\/p>\n My next uncertainty was whether or not the dragonfly was still alive. I think it had been there for a while but I\u2019m glad I \u2018prodded\u2019 it very gently, and with something very soft, because it did stir.<\/p>\n I was then able to persuade it onto a piece of cardboard and release it back into the great outdoors, where it took flight in short order.<\/p>\n By far the best fate for a creature of the great outdoors (whatever its subsequent fate.)<\/p>\n Still, I am exceedingly pleased to have had the opportunity to see a dragonfly at such \u201cup close and personal\u201d quarters. And it isn\u2019t \u201cjust\u201d beautiful, it\u2019s “bloomin’ marvellous”\u2014and I marvel again every time I reflect upon it. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n Recently I was visiting a friend and discovered this upon her windowsill.
