The About The Characters<\/strong><\/a> post series focuses on the minor characters in The Wall Of Night<\/strong><\/a> series, in large part because:<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s the presence of the smaller characters that \u201cmakes\u201d a story, creating texture around the main points of view.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Initially, the series focused exclusively on characters from The Heir of Night<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, but now I\u2019m continuing on with minor characters from both The Gathering Of The Lost<\/strong><\/em><\/a> and Daughter of Blood<\/strong><\/em><\/a> \u2014 in alphabetical order, by name, of course!<\/p>\n

Currently we’re in the realm of \u201cM\u201d\u2014and looking to see if it will match the number of entries for the “great plains of L.” \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n

Marten:<\/strong> a guard and scout in the service of Normarch, in the southern realm of Emer.<\/span><\/p>\n

Shortly before noon they finally caught up with Brania and her companions, waiting with Herun and Darin where the cart track joined the old northern road. \u201cHow old is it?\u201d Carick asked as they joined them, thinking that it looked like a decayed version of the River\u2019s Main Road.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n
