The About The Characters<\/strong><\/a> post series focuses on the minor characters in The Wall Of Night<\/strong><\/a> series, in large part because:<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s the presence of the smaller characters that \u201cmakes\u201d a story, creating texture around the main points of view.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Initially, the series focused exclusively on characters from The Heir of Night<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, but now I\u2019m continuing on with minor characters from both The Gathering Of The Lost<\/strong><\/em><\/a> and Daughter of Blood<\/strong><\/em><\/a> \u2014 in alphabetical order, by name, of course!<\/p>\n

Currently we’re rolling through “N” — and today’s character, Nerion, is one of a select number that are technically “minor” in terms of their page time, but cast a major shadow in terms of influence on the story.<\/p>\n

Those of you who’re WALL afficionados will know that she is the exiled mother of the main character, Malian of Night. Nerion’s role in The Heir of Night<\/em> and The Gathering of the Lost<\/em> is largely off-camera, but she is beginning to step out of the shadows in Daughter of Blood<\/em>.<\/p>\n
