If you enjoyed Kim Falconer’s Weapons in Fantasy post<\/a> last month, you’ll love her next instalment, which has just posted and focuses on weatherworking as a magical—and potent—weapon in the genre arsenal.<\/p>\n

Kim features some great examples, from Disney’s 1940 Fantasia<\/em><\/strong>, to the Callers in her own Amassia<\/strong> series, and the Bowl of Winds in Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time<\/strong> epic. And yes, weatherworking in Daughter of Blood<\/em><\/strong>, and Faro in particular, do get a mention. \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n

By the way, something I love about Kim’s first two instalments is how she’s going outside the weapons-in-fantasy square. So we may get to swords (whether retrieved from stones and lakes, or found in other places) and magic wands, but it’s fun not to start there.<\/p>\n
