As I’m sure regulars here know very well by now, but for the benefit of newcomers ( \ud83d\ude09 ) — the About The Characters<\/strong><\/a> post series focuses on the minor characters in The Wall Of Night<\/strong><\/a> series, in large part because:<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s the presence of the smaller characters that \u201cmakes\u201d a story, creating texture around the main points of view.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Initially, the series focused exclusively on characters from The Heir of Night<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, but now I\u2019m continuing on with minor characters from both The Gathering Of The Lost<\/strong><\/em><\/a> and Daughter of Blood<\/strong><\/em><\/a> \u2014 in alphabetical order, by name, of course!<\/p>\n

Currently we\u2019re (still) exploring \u201cN\u201d and and today\u2019s character is Nirn, who appears in both The Gathering of the Lost<\/em> and Daughter of Blood<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Nirn:<\/strong> a Darksworn sorcerer, associated with the House known as Sun<\/span><\/p>\n

The mirror on one wall reflected glimpses of a very tall man, thin almost to the point of emaciation, with bone-white hair and deep-set eyes. A fuller view of the face revealed a fine, livid scar from temple to chin; it had the look of a whiplash, or an old burn, and stood out sharply against the guest\u2019s pallid skin.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

He checked the brightening sky once through the shutters, his thin mouth set in a bitter line, before casting himself down on the bed…<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

The boy ran, scrambling up the dark wooden stairs at the far end of the large chamber. Before he reached the upper level, another tall figure with startling, bone-white hair had appeared at the balustrade. A flare of lightning reflected through the windows in a way that made it seem to emanate from the white-haired man, but no rumble of thunder followed.<\/em> <\/span><\/p>\n
