On Monday, I posted a sneak preview of June Gum Young’s Tuckerization character, who will appear in The Wall Of Night<\/a> #4.<\/p>\n

I also indicated that having a Tuckerization character in each book has become a tradition for the series, since The Heir of Night<\/em><\/strong><\/a> was launched.<\/p>\n

The character in The Gathering of the Lost<\/em><\/a> is Jan Butterworth<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

The girl made a warding sign anyway. \u201cNever say it!\u201d she exclaimed, the words half a gasp, then twisted a finger in the strand of pale golden hair that had fallen free of her kerchief. \u201cI don\u2019t know. The Ara-fyr keep to themselves, but Baz at the forge says \u2026\u201d She raised her shoulders high, then let them fall again. \u201cI think they worship other gods.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

A new voice spoke. \u201cMainly, Baz at the forge says that you talk too much, Jan Butterworth!\u201d <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

While Daughter of Blood<\/em><\/a>‘s Tuckerization is Cheryl Graham<\/strong>, whose character became Che’Ryl-g-Raham<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

The Sea woman\u2019s gaze lingered on Kelyr and Tawrin, before considering Kalan. \u201cSwords,\u201d she said meditatively, \u201cand Blood.\u201d She inclined her head gravely. “Honor on you and both your Houses. I am Che’Ryl-g-Raham of the Sea House, navigator to the ship of the same name.”<\/em> <\/span><\/p>\n

One of the conditions of the contest is that I can’t promise what sort of character the Tuckerization will be, e.g. good guy or villain, peasant or princess — but I do endeavour to make them interesting, as well as really part of the story.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
