It’s Thursday — and time for another post in the About The Characters<\/strong><\/a> series, which focuses on the minor characters in The Wall Of Night<\/strong><\/a> series, in large part because:<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s the presence of the smaller characters that \u201cmakes\u201d a story, creating texture around the main points of view.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Initially, the series focused exclusively on characters from The Heir of Night<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, but now I\u2019m continuing on with minor characters from both The Gathering Of The Lost<\/strong><\/em><\/a> and Daughter of Blood<\/strong><\/em><\/a> \u2014 in alphabetical order, by name, of course!<\/p>\n

As mentioned last month, the series has now reached “O” and the Old Earl of Night. Although deceased, I still consider him a character in the story, not because he has appeared as a ghost (although there is at least one character who is, indeed, a phantom), but because his influence continues to shape others in the story.<\/p>\n
