“Just a literary quote” for today’s post, but I think it’s a good one. It certainly resonated with me the first time I read it, similar to the AS Byatt quote<\/a> on readers and writers.<\/p>\n

For those who may not know, Ellen Gilchrist was a US author (from the American South), who the NY Times described as a “writer with an eye on the South’s foibles.”<\/em> She won a National Book Award<\/a> for her 1984 collection of short stories, Victory Over Japan<\/i>.<\/p>\n
