I’m excited to be sharing the fundraising campaign for A Son’s Return Home<\/em><\/strong>, a NZ short film project, with you today.<\/p>\n

A Son’s Return Home<\/em><\/strong> is one of September’s projects on the Boosted (Te Tumu Toi: The (NZ) Arts Council) fundraising platform.<\/p>\n

The reason I’m featuring it today is because the scriptwriter, Janine Sowerby, is a friend of very longstanding. So of course I want to support her project — although as you can see from the above quote, its merits have also been recognized by more qualified, and dispassionate, observers.<\/p>\n

Just after WW1, a traumatised young man arrives at the farmhouse of a family whose son was killed at Passchendaele. Each family member has been dealing with the devastating loss in their own way but the young man\u2019s arrival stirs up intense emotions, forcing the family to confront their feelings or risk being torn apart.\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
