It&#8217;s a case of balancing page time, which may be &#8220;minor&#8221;, with their importance in the world of the story.<\/p>\n<p>One of the reasons for focusing on minor-to-supporting characters is because it&#8217;s usually the major point-of-view characters that get the discussion love, but: \u2014<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><em>\u201cI think it\u2019s the presence of the smaller characters that (also) \u201cmakes\u201d a story, creating texture around the main points of view.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><em>~ Helen Lowe (<\/em>from my Legend Award Finalist\u2019s Interview)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Initially, this series focused exclusively on characters from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.helenlowe.info\/heirofnight.html\"><em><strong>The Heir of Night<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, but now I\u2019m continuing on with minor characters from both\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.helenlowe.info\/gatheringofthelost.html\"><em><strong>The Gathering Of The Lost<\/strong><\/em><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.helenlowe.info\/daughterofblood.html\"><em><strong>Daughter of Blood<\/strong><\/em><\/a>\u00a0\u2014 in alphabetical order, by name, of course!<\/p>\n<p>Some of you may know the Prince of Sun better as Aranraith, or his sobriquet of the Serpent Prince. He closed his eyes, but when he looked again the nightmare was still there, a powerfully built man in gold-washed black mail, with long coils of hair falling down his back.
