John Masefield’s Sea Fever<\/em> is one of my favourite poems, and I’ve written a few of my own on themes maritime, so in that spirit, I’m sharing a trio of ‘local’ (i.e. NZ aka ‘Middle Earth’)\u00a0 seascapes, which I hope will get\u00a0 all our weeks off to a good start. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

The first, fittingly, is an ocean sunrise from the Wakanui region, on the mid-Canterbury coast:<\/p>\n

Heading north, this one was taken on Kapiti Island, looking toward the North island mainland:<\/p>\n

And going farther north again, this one is Port Waikato, on the North Island’s western coast :<\/p>\n
