Sometimes, between title, cover, and synopsis, a book just leaps out at me and insists on being taken home — which was exactly the case with Green City Wars<\/em><\/strong> by Adrian Tchaikovsky<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And although I can sometimes be a little behind the new book eight-ball, this is very new, having been published on 23 June, by TOR.<\/p>\n

I rather like the tagline, too, which is, “Humans rule. Animals serve. Unrest grows.”<\/p>\n

And the synopsis does<\/em> sound great:<\/p>\n

“In a city of sunshine and secrets, the shadows belong to the animals.<\/b><\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

In a solar-powered future, humans live in luxury, served by unseen Little Helpers \u2013 artificially enhanced animals who maintain their perfect green cities. The animals\u2019 number one rule: \u2018do not bother the humans\u2019. Yet, beneath this tranquil facade, a complex underworld of animal politics, crime and conflict thrives.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

I’ve also seen it described as, “Philip Marlowe meets Redwall in this noir tale, where all the characters are animals…”<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n
