{"id":4991,"date":"2011-04-23T06:30:35","date_gmt":"2011-04-22T18:30:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/?p=4991"},"modified":"2011-04-20T21:48:50","modified_gmt":"2011-04-20T09:48:50","slug":"starry-starry-night","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/helenlowe.info\/blog\/2011\/04\/23\/starry-starry-night\/","title":{"rendered":"Starry Starry Night"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sometimes, I see a picture that&#8217;s just so well, awesome, that I have to share it.<\/p>\n<p>This one is a photo of our very own Milky Way galaxy taken from the European Southern Observatory on the Atacama Plateau in Chile. The photo was taken by Yuri Beletsky, an astronomer with the ESO Chile observatory.<\/p>\n<p>The two bright glowing spots to the left of the photograph are the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds, satellite galaxies to the Milky Way, while part of the observatory can be seen on the right.
